An antique Burmese storage box, made from a single piece of teak wood, is traditionally known as the "log box" because it is made from wooden planks cut from the trunk of the Burmese teak tree. The box is designed to store valuable items such as gold and silver articles, silk garments, and any items that need security and protection. The box sits on a solid base frame. The lid has a flat surface attached to the main box with brass swivel hinges. There is a beautiful brass latch attached to the top lid which fits neatly into a ring attached to the main box which can be padlocked shut.
