Traditional Moroccan arched mirror with bone and metal inlays, decorated with typical Arab cultural motifs. Handcrafted by Moroccan artisans using the traditional Taracea technique. Inlaying is an ancient art form that requires skill and time to execute. Each artisan can take several weeks to craft these pieces using animal bone that is shaped by cutting, grinding, and sawing each piece by hand to fit a specific design. Colored resin is applied with a trowel over the entire surface. The resin and bone are sanded until smooth and then polished to give them the finishing touch. This process and the natural materials give each piece a distinctive personality.
