Traditional African mask, handcrafted in fired clay, decorated with glass beads in different colors, each shade has a purpose: blue evokes water and life; white, peace and purity; red, strength; and yellow, prosperity. In ancient times, these types of objects were associated with power, spiritual protection, and royal status. They represent the serenity and wisdom of the ancestors, which is why they usually feature stylized human features with exaggerated eyes and foreheads to symbolize clairvoyance and spiritual connection. Today, although they retain their cultural value in Cameroon, these pieces are highly prized in Boho and ethnic interior design around the world as collectible art objects.
